Regional Center Coordination (RCRC)
If you or your family member receives services through the Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC), respite care and personal assistant services can often be funded through your Individual Program Plan (IPP).
Steps for Regional Center Clients:
- Contact your designated RCRC Service Coordinator.
- Request CARE (Community Assistance, Resources, and Empowerment LLC) as your preferred vendor/provider.
- Once authorization is confirmed, we coordinate with you directly to schedule service hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Respite Care and Personal Assistant services?
Respite care focuses on providing temporary, qualified relief to primary family caregivers, ensuring client safety and comfort in the home. Personal Assistant services focus on one-on-one assistance to help clients perform daily living tasks, navigate errands, and engage with the community.
How are respite hours scheduled?
Schedules are customized to each family's routine. Whether you need regular weekly blocks or occasional flexible sessions, we work with you and your authorized hours to arrange a dependable schedule.
Are caregivers background-checked and trained?
Yes. All care workers undergo comprehensive background screenings, CPR/First Aid training, and orientation on person-centered care before beginning assignments.
Do you accept private pay in addition to regional center funding?
Yes. While we work closely with RCRC authorizations, we also accept private pay arrangements for families seeking additional support beyond funded allocations.
